If you are interested in working with PEG Therapists, let us answer some questions you might have.

Q: Is PEG Therapists a national healthcare staffing firm?

A: PEG Therapists is focused solely on serving healthcare organizations in Missouri and Illinois. Our company was founded in Columbia, Mo., by experienced physical therapist – and St. Louis native – Peggy Abeln in 1991. PEG Therapists has been focused on serving the St. Louis regional healthcare community with therapist staffing coverage longer than any other staffing company in the area.

Unlike national or out-of-town firms, we know Missouri and Illinois – and every healthcare organization from Kansas City to Springfield, Ill. – and can get the right therapists to your facility quickly and efficiently. We've watched Midwestern healthcare organizations change and grow, while cultivating long-term relationships with many facilities throughout Missouri and Illinois. With personal and professional roots in St. Louis, we're fully vested in doing our part to ensure the continued economic health of the entire region.

Q: Is there any minimum length of time for therapy services from PEG?
A: There is no minimum requirement for utilization of therapy services. We have the ability to cover your short- or long-term therapy staffing needs. PEG Therapists representatives are available 24/7/365 to help you with your part-or full-time, weekend and/or holiday staffing needs throughout the St. Louis area.

Q: What happens if our census drops? What are the terms for cancellation?
A: For services to be cancelled, we ask that you provide a 24-hour advance notice.

Q: How much experience do your therapists have?
A: PEG Therapists has a highly experienced team of physical therapists, occupational therapists, speech language pathologists, physical therapy assistants (PTAs) and certified occupational therapy assistants (COTAs) who have additional specialty skills in areas including: cardiopulmonary, geriatrics, lymphedema, fall prevention, vestibular training, outpatient orthopedics, pool therapy and pediatrics. Many PEG therapists have advanced degrees, including doctorates, while many others have healthcare management experience. Additionally, we have therapists available with licenses to practice in both Missouri and Illinois.

Q: What does the hourly rate cover?
A: The hourly rate is a flat rate that covers the time a PEG therapist is on the premises at a healthcare organization. Our therapists arrive at your facility ready to see patients so that they can immediately be productive for you. Additionally, we help reduce your overhead costs by saving marketing, recruiting and interviewing time and money. And, we reduce your full time employee (FTE) load because our therapists are on our payroll and receiving our benefits, not drawing down from yours. For one hourly rate, you can maintain your high-quality therapy services without draining your budgets.

PEG Therapists will work with you to provide our therapists with advance orientation specific to your organization so you don't have to – whether it is helping with training costs or using your materials to train therapists in advance, especially with specialized needs such as EMR (electronic documentation) systems.

Q: What if a therapist is needed after the contract term expires?
A: Toward the end of a contract, a PEG Therapists scheduling coordinator will contact the client to assess the assignment and determine if an extension is needed.

Q: Can PEG Therapists cover weekend hours?
A: Absolutely! We have staff who work strictly weekends, as well as regular staff who request additional hours. PEG Therapists attracts experienced, energetic, dynamic professionals who thrive in our caring environment and enjoy scheduling flexibility, a wide range of therapy opportunities and a commitment to supporting ongoing skills development.

Q: Is PEG Therapists certified by the Joint Commission?
A: PEG Therapists adheres to the strictest credentialing standards as defined by the top healthcare credentialing organizations, including the Joint Commission. This ensures our standards meet or exceed your healthcare organization's standards.
